The SPA Shelter of Plaisir

First meeting of the SOL Project with the animals of the shelter
On Wednesday 21 June 2023, to mark the Festival of Music, the SOL Project visited the SPA Shelter in Plaisir.
ā
Louis-Marie AKIKI and Xavier Le Gales met the cats and dogs who live in this second-chance shelter. Louis-Marie on piano and guitar. Xavier with his harmonicas.
ā
During these listening sessions, the musicians' main message was one of kindness, given the state of health of the cats and dogs and the reasons for their presence at the shelter. Abandoned and mistreated for others, a musical bubble reached their ears. We took the time to reach them to the rhythm of different high and low frequencies.
ā
With the recommendations of the shelter's caretakers and director, we were also able to approach the animals from different distances. In the cages or pens with the cats. A few metres in front of the dog cages. In an almost instinctive relationship, we expressed ourselves through music.
ā
At the end of the day, we were humbled and grateful to the cats and dogs we played for.
Thank you once again to SPA director "Ninon" and the entire team at the SPA of Plaisir for welcoming us, and with a special thought for "Jeremy", a member of this little family who rests in peace, whose memory inspired us so much during this day.

First meeting of the SOL Project with the animals of the shelter
On Saturday, October 7, 2023, the SPA Shelter of Plaisir once again called on musicians from the SOL project for its Open House Day. Throughout the afternoon, a pianist, guitarist and harmonist performed for the shelter's residents.
